What has been implemented

Accessibility is treated as part of the build rather than an add on. The following are in place across the site.

• Semantic HTML landmarks and a single main heading on each page
• A skip link to the main content as the first focusable element
• Visible keyboard focus indicators on links, buttons and form fields
• Labelled form fields with error messages tied to their inputs
• Touch targets sized for comfortable use on phones
• Text contrast checked against WCAG 2.1 AA guidance
• Motion effects that switch off when the operating system requests reduced motion
• Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology

Standard we aim for

The target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at level AA. Conformance is an ongoing process rather than a one off certification, and pages are rechecked when content changes.

Reporting a barrier

If something on this site is difficult or impossible to use, please say so through the contact page. Describe the page, the device or assistive technology you were using and what happened. Reports are used to fix the underlying issue, not just the single page.

Alternative ways to get in touch

If the form itself is a barrier, contact details are published on the contact page as soon as the practice profile is completed, so that a phone or email route is always available.
